sporto knyga statusas T sritis Kūno kultūra ir sportas apibrėžtis Knyga, kurioje nagrinėjami kūno kultūros ir sporto istorijos, teorijos, sporto technikos mokymo, treniruotės metodikos, organizavimo, valdymo, sporto varžybų klausimai. Pirmosios sporto knygos pasirodė Renesanso laikais: 1538 m. šveicaras N. Vinmanas parašė patarimus „Pokalbiai apie plaukymo meną“. Ši knyga buvo tokia turininga ir aktuali, kad po 350 m. išėjo pakartotinis jos leidimas. 1539 m. Vokietijoje išleista F. Auersvaldo sporto knyga „Apie imtynių meną“, iliustruota 85 išraiškiais raižiniais. 1554 m. išspausdintos anglo R. Aksemo parengtos rekomendacijos šauliams iš lanko. Pirmąją knygą apie vaikų fizinį auklėjimą Lietuvoje išleido A. Sniadeckis 1805 m. – „Apie fizinį vaikų auklėjimą“. 1911 m. Seinuose išleista M. Grigonio liaudies žaidimų knygelė „200 žaidimų kambaryje ir tyrame ore su dainomis, melodijomis, paveikslėliais ir fantų vadavimais“. 1921 m. išėjo S. Garbačiausko „Futbolas“ (leidėjas – Generalinio štabo literatūros skyrius). atitikmenys: angl. Sports Book vok. Sportbuch, n rus. спортивная книга
